In 1995, Gerald Schwarz and Tod Hanson opened the doors to Schwarz Hanson Architects in a former bank space shared with another firm. In the pursuit of gaining experience, the firm took on and completed a wide portfolio of projects varied in scope and price range. From this humble beginning, the firm's principles of innovative design, quality construction documents, and unmatched service were formed. These traits, applied to all projects, no matter the size or scope, still apply today. From commercial to residential, industrial to religious, private sector to public sector, Schwarz Hanson Architects has experience in every project type. With a strong commitment to community, the firm has and continues to provide pro-bono architectural services to many local charitable organizations and foundations. Thousands of successful projects and satisfied clients are the reasons for Schwarz- Hanson Architects' steady growth and its established place in the community.

Excellence Award for Restoration

Schwarz-Hanson Architects was awarded the Cast Stone Institute's Excellence Award for Restoration for it's work on XTOs offices at 714 Main Street, Fort Worth, Tx. This renovation of a 1920s masonry, 24 story building consisted of fully updating the facility to meet current codes, including accessibility and life safety requirements, as well as energy efficient MEP system, new windows, and a full façade historical recreation/ restoration of the first four stories.

Legacy of Design

Schwarz-Hanson Architects and Stacey Brimmer, ASID was awarded second place in the small commercial catagorie for the Interior Design of Hill Country Transit District by the American Society of Interior Designers.The goal of the project was to create a warm, western atmosphere in a Hill Country office space. The finishes in the space were kept modern yet rustic and custom furniture solutions were designed to balance the aesthetic wishes of the client with the durability needs of a commercial environment.

Fort Worth Trailblazer

Schwarz-Hanson Architects was award the 2010 Downtown Fort Worth Trailblazer Award for it's work on the Preservation and Adaptive Reuse of the XTO offices at 714 Main.This 24 story historic renovation was born out of the client's passion to preserve and restore the local history and landscape of the Downtown area. Schwarz-Hanson performed extensive research on the history of the building as well as the design documents to bring the client's vision to life.

Association Award

Schwarz-Hanson was awarded the Award for Excellence by the American Precast Association for the work on XTO's offices at 714 Main, Fort Worth, Tx.This historic renovation required painstaking research and detailing to ensure that the ornamentation of the original structure was carefully recreated. A close collaboration between Schwarz-Hanson and the contractor, KHK, was necessary to replicate these pieces of history.

2007 Heritage

2007 Heritage Monument

Schwarz-Hanson created the construction documents for the Heritage Monument for the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce. Based on the designs of Yuri Trushin, the sculpture symbolizes a place for everyone. The components of the Heritage Monument represent both the traditional and contemporary aspects of life in the city of Cleburne.http://www.yurius.net/monument.html
